21st Century Community Learning Centers

The 21st Century Community Learning Centers support neighborhood collaborations by continuing to develop positive communication, relationships, and trust.  We are committed to strengthening the community by enhancing the lives of families and children through quality strengthening the community by enhancing the lives of families and children through quality life enriching experiences that offer life=long opportunities for success.

The EVSC 21st Century Community Learning Centers provide students, parents, and community residents with quality enrichment, recreational, drug/alcohol prevention, and educational opportunities in a safe and drug-free environment.

The programs offered at Lincoln School through the 21st Century Program include:

Basketball- Program is offered to 4th and 5th grade boys.  The boys practice daily with their coach and compete in games against other schools throughout the months of December and January.  An annual tournament is held sometime in the month of February.  All participates will get a trophy at the end of the season.

Cub Scouts- Program is offered by the Cubs Scouts organization.  Boys will participate in activities provided by the Cubs Scouts leaders, including the pine wood derby car races, and other events that are held outside of school hours.  All boys from 1st-5th grade are welcome to attend. 

Dance- Program is offered to 4th and 5th grade girls.  The girls learn different dances, as well as stepping.  Girls that participate perform at the Cheer and Dance exhibition that is held yearly at Central High School. 

Girl Scouts- Program is offered by the Girl Scouts organization.  The Daisies program is offered to girls in kindergarten and 1st grade.  This program is a nine week programming meeting once a week, learning about the core values it takes to be a girl scout.

Lion’s Den- Program is offered through Lincoln to all students ranging from kindergarten through 8th grade.  Students who attend can receive homework help in any subject they may need extra assistance with. 

Museum Adventure Club- Program is offered by the Evansville Museum.  Open to all 3rd grade students to attend.  They will experience art, history, science, and anthropology.  Students will see art from around the world, take a walk through time and view history, and discover new worlds in science and technology.
